Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on Monday, December 27 said that up to seven thousand Citizens Charter National Priority Program (CCNPP) projects have remained unfinished across the country.
Spokesperson of the ministry Ahmad Wali Haqmal said that the working process of the projects has completely been stalled and they are trying to resume the projects.
Ahmad Wali Haqmal added that they are in contact with the World Bank to continue financing the projects to get finished.
The projects are financed by the World Bank that is worth $1 billion.
The CCNPP was initially launched in 2016 that was divided into three phases.
The first phase of the program that include 12,000 projects across Afghanistan was expected to be completed by the end of 2022 but 7,000 of those 12,000 projects are now half-finished.
All these projects are funded by the World Bank.
The CCNPP was scheduled for a ten-year timeframe during which thousands of large and small-scale projects were planned to be implemented in Afghanistan but the program has been stalled after the collapse of the previous Afghan government.
